Jackery Explorer 1000 v2

The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is a 1,070 Wh mid-size station with three AC outlets and 1,500 W of output, enough for a CPAP for several nights or a fridge for most of a day. It weighs 23.8 lb, refills from a wall outlet in about an hour and a half (about an hour in emergency mode) and takes up to 400 W of solar. It cannot take extra batteries, and Jackery rates its 4,000-cycle battery life to 70% capacity rather than 80%.

How long does the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 last?

A full charge runs a full-size fridge for about 20 hours and a Wi-Fi router and cable modem for about 36 hours. A CPAP with the humidifier off goes about 130 hours, or 16 nights. Turn the heated humidifier on and you still get three full nights.

Runtime for 18 common devices

One device at a time, from a full charge. Devices that cycle on and off (fridges, freezers, heaters, pumps) use their average draw.

Battery Wh × 0.85 ÷ the device’s average watts. “Can’t run it” means the device needs more than 1,500 W or a start-up surge above 3,000 W. Try your own mix in the calculator.

Is the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 right for you?

This is the one to pick if you will carry it. At 23.8 lb for 1,070 Wh, it holds about 45 Wh per pound, more than any other unit near 1,000 Wh on this site. The Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 weighs 24.9 lb, the BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 25 lb and the BLUETTI AC180 35.3 lb. That suits camping trips, moving it from room to room in an outage, or anyone who would struggle with a heavier box.

Output is where it falls behind. Its 1,500 W runs a microwave or a coffee maker, one at a time, but an air fryer (about 1,550 W), a single induction burner (1,800 W) and a 1,875 W hair dryer are all too much. The C1000 Gen 2 and the Elite 100 V2 handle the air fryer and the burner. Its 3,000 W surge is plenty for a fridge, a chest freezer or a 1/3 HP sump pump.

Skip it if your outages often run past a day, or if you want to refill fast from solar. It cannot add batteries, so 1,070 Wh is the ceiling. Its 400 W solar limit is the lowest of the 1,000 Wh units here. The UPS switch-over is 20 ms, against 10 ms on the C1000 Gen 2, the Elite 100 V2 and the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus.

What we like

  • 1,500 W output runs a fridge, microwave or coffee maker one at a time
  • Light for its size at 23.8 lb, with a folding handle
  • Full recharge in about 95 minutes, or about 1 hour in emergency mode
  • App control plus a 20 ms UPS switch-over for routers and computers

Watch out for

  • Cannot add extra batteries
  • Only one USB-A port, and the second USB-C is 30 W
  • Jackery rates cycle life to 70% capacity, not 80%

Questions about the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2

Can the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 run a microwave?
Yes, but only just. A 1,000 W microwave pulls about 1,500 W from the wall, which is the Jackery’s full output, so run nothing else on it at the same time. A full charge covers about 35 minutes of cooking.
How many nights will the Explorer 1000 v2 run a CPAP?
About 16 nights with the humidifier off, since a CPAP draws about 7 W. With a heated humidifier it draws about 34 W, and the battery lasts about 27 hours, or three full nights.
How long does the Explorer 1000 v2 take to recharge?
About 95 minutes from a wall outlet, or about an hour in Emergency Super Charge mode. Solar input tops out at 400 W, so a full refill needs close to three hours of perfect sun and longer in real conditions.
Can I add a battery to the Explorer 1000 v2?
No. It cannot take extra batteries, so plan around 1,070 Wh. If you want to grow later, the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus reaches 5,000 Wh and the DJI Power 1000 V2 reaches 11,264 Wh.
