BLUETTI AC180

The Bluetti AC180 is a 2023 workhorse that is still sold new and often discounted. It stores 1,152 Wh and delivers 1,800 W, enough to run a fridge, CPAP or microwave one at a time. It is heavier at 35.3 lb and charges a bit slower than the newer Elite 100 V2, but the lower price makes it a solid budget pick for short outages and camping.

How long does the BLUETTI AC180 last?

Running a full-size fridge alone, the AC180 lasts about 22 hours. A Wi-Fi router and cable modem get about 39 hours, and a CPAP with a heated humidifier about 29 hours, or three full nights. It cannot start a typical 1/2 HP well pump, which needs about 3,000 W at start-up against its 2,700 W surge limit.

Runtime for 18 common devices

One device at a time, from a full charge. Devices that cycle on and off (fridges, freezers, heaters, pumps) use their average draw.

Battery Wh × 0.85 ÷ the device’s average watts. “Can’t run it” means the device needs more than 1,800 W or a start-up surge above 2,700 W. Try your own mix in the calculator.

Is the BLUETTI AC180 right for you?

Choose the AC180 if you want the most battery in the 1,000 Wh class and do not mind the weight. Its 1,152 Wh is the biggest of the group, so it runs a fridge about two and a half hours longer than the 1,024 Wh units here. It also has four AC outlets, four USB-A ports and a wireless pad for a phone, which helps in a house full of older chargers.

Weight and surge are the trade. At 35.3 lb it is 11.5 lb heavier than the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2, which holds nearly as much at 1,070 Wh. Its 2,700 W surge starts a fridge, a chest freezer or a 1/3 HP sump pump (about 2,100 W at start-up). It cannot start a 1/2 HP well pump or a garage door opener, which need about 3,000 W and 3,200 W.

Its 1,800 W output does beat the Jackery on the kitchen counter. It runs an air fryer for about an hour, which the 1,500 W Jackery cannot run at all. The rest of its limits come from its 2023 design: no extra batteries, 500 W of solar, a Bluetooth-only app and a 20 ms UPS switch-over, against 10 ms on the newer BLUETTI Elite 100 V2.

What we like

  • 1,800 W output with 2,700 W Power Lifting for heaters and kettles
  • Four wall outlets, four USB-A ports and a wireless phone pad
  • 80% recharge in 45 minutes in Turbo mode
  • LiFePO4 battery rated for 3,500 cycles

Watch out for

  • 35.3 lb, heavier and bulkier than the newer Elite 100 V2
  • Solar input is capped at 500 W
  • Bluetooth-only app with no Wi-Fi, and it cannot add batteries

On the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 (2,048 Wh), runtimes go from about 1 hr for a microwave (1000 W) to about 3 days for a Wi-Fi router + cable modem, each running by itself.

Questions about the BLUETTI AC180

Can the BLUETTI AC180 run a refrigerator overnight?
Yes. A full-size fridge needs about 1,000 W to start, well under the AC180’s 2,700 W surge rating, and the battery runs it for about 22 hours. Add a router and modem and the pair lasts about 14 hours.
How fast does the AC180 recharge?
About 45 minutes to 80% and about 78 minutes to full in Turbo mode. Solar input tops out at 500 W, so a full refill takes a bit over two hours of ideal sun and longer in real conditions.
Is the AC180 too old to buy in 2026?
It came out in 2023 and is still sold new. Newer units like the Elite 100 V2 are lighter and start bigger motors, so the AC180 makes the most sense when it costs clearly less than they do.
