Jackery Explorer 2000 v2

The Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 is a 2,042 Wh station built for short home outages, able to keep a fridge, Wi-Fi and lights going for about a day. It weighs 39.5 lb, refills from the wall in under two hours, and has three AC outlets, two USB-C ports (100 W and 30 W), a USB-A port and a 12V car port. It cannot take extra batteries, and Jackery rates its 4,000-cycle battery life to 70% capacity.

How long does the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 last?

Plan on about 39 hours from a full-size fridge on its own, or about 69 hours from a Wi-Fi router and cable modem. A CPAP with a heated humidifier runs about 51 hours, six full nights. Put the fridge and the router on it together and the pair lasts about 25 hours.

Runtime for 18 common devices

One device at a time, from a full charge. Devices that cycle on and off (fridges, freezers, heaters, pumps) use their average draw.

Battery Wh × 0.85 ÷ the device’s average watts. “Can’t run it” means the device needs more than 2,200 W or a start-up surge above 4,400 W. Try your own mix in the calculator.

Is the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 right for you?

Of the four stations near 2,000 Wh on this site, this is the lightest and the smallest box. It weighs 39.5 lb, against 41.7 lb for the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2, 48.5 lb for the DJI Power 2000 and 53.4 lb for the BLUETTI Elite 200 V2. The Anker and the DJI are each about 18 inches long, while the Jackery is 13.2 inches. That makes it easier to fit in a closet or a car trunk.

It also has the highest surge in that group, 4,400 W, and its 2,200 W output runs an induction burner or a 1,875 W hair dryer. One at a time, it can run every device we list, from a well pump to a circular saw. What it cannot do is run two big appliances together. A microwave and a coffee maker need about 2,500 W at once.

Long outages show its limits. It cannot add batteries, so 2,042 Wh is the ceiling. Solar tops out at 400 W, the lowest of the 2,000 Wh group, so even a perfect day needs over five hours to refill it. The UPS switch-over is 20 ms, against 10 ms on the Anker and the DJI. You get three AC outlets and no 30A RV outlet.

What we like

  • 2,200 W output handles a fridge plus lights, a router and a microwave
  • 39.5 lb, lighter than most stations this size
  • Full recharge from a wall outlet in under 2 hours
  • 20 ms UPS switch-over and app monitoring

Watch out for

  • Cannot add expansion batteries
  • Solar input tops out at 400 W
  • No 30A RV-style outlet

Questions about the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2

Can the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 run a window air conditioner?
Yes. A 5,000 BTU window unit runs about 7.5 hours and an 8,000 BTU unit about 4.5 hours, if the compressor is on half the time. The 8,000 BTU unit needs about 2,200 W to start, well inside the 4,400 W surge rating.
How long does the Explorer 2000 v2 take to charge?
About 105 minutes from a wall outlet, or about 1.3 hours in emergency charge mode. On solar it takes at least five hours of full sun at the 400 W limit, and longer with real panels.
Is the Explorer 2000 v2 better than the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2?
For most people, no. The two hold almost the same energy, but the Anker adds 200 W of output, twice the solar input, five AC outlets and an expansion battery. The Jackery wins on size and weight.
